Bective get a win against Moylagh
Bective got the expected victory in the JFC against Moylagh at Kilmainhamwood tonight where they won by 1-15 to 0-10, but the manner of their fade-out in the last quarter could be an area of concern for manager Jody Devine.
The opening minutes were laced with unsavoury challenges which, for the most part, were unpunished by referee Seamus O'Connor and it was Bective's Colin O'Rourke who was at the wrong end of a couple of those challenges.
Predictably, when the referee took no action, Bective did and the first yellow card was issued to Ciaran Breslin.
A Moylagh player certainly did enough to merit at least one, if not two, of the same colour.
It all had an unsettling impact on Bective who trailed by 0-0 to 0-2 after eight minutes, but were ahead by 0-8 to 0-2 at the interval.
It was 1-11 to 0-4 at the three-quarter stage and then Bective eased off, they also lost Jack Grant to a black card.
Moylagh, inspired by the rentless running of Tommy Reilly, closed the gap sufficiently before the end to give Bective plenty of reasons to think about the way they finished the game.
