Enjoy a bank holiday bog day!
St Ultan's Historical Society will once again stage their annual Bog day on Bohermeen Bog on Whit Monday 6th June from 1pm-5pm.
The day will comprise of a demonstration of turf cutting with the now defunct Slean which were used on the bog up to the arrival of the new modern turf machines in 1984.
There will also be 'Tae on the bog' and generally a chat about past days about summer days on the bog. Last year's planned bog day was postponed due to bad weather and hopefully this years event will see many coming along who were deprived of the day out last year. As part of remembering this year's day out all visitors are requested to sign the Bog Journal (Optional) on the day as a record of their attendance at the 2016 day out. Families are invited to bring along their picnic baskets and make it a family day out .
