Impressive victory for Meath
After last week's victory against Down at Croke Park in the first round of the All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie championship, Meath returned to action at trim this afternoon where they negotiated a tough Galway side by 1-11 to 0-6.
Meath established a 0-7 to 0-2 interval lead with a wholehearted performance that curtailed Galway’s input and denied them any clear-cut chances as they managed two points apiece from Kristina Troy, Aoife Minogue and Jane Dolan along with a good effort by Sinead Hackett,
Galway worked hard in the second-half and with the backing of the wind they closed the gap to three points (0-5 to 0-8) byt he end of the third-quarter.
However, a goal from Kristinal Troy with about three minutes remaining settled Meath and set them up for next weekend's encounter against Cork.
