Now you see it, now you don't!
It's a case of 'now you see and now you don't' as far as Áras Táilteann at the back of the main stand at Páirc Tailteann is concerned.
Last night (Friday) was my first visit to the stadium for about three weeks and it was a great surprise to notice that the building had disappeared.
Apparently it was dismantled and sold two weeks ago - according to unofficial sources.
There was even more unofficial sources suggesting that the house at the corner of Commons Road and railway track level crossing on the way out of the car park could be a target for the Co Board?
With the eagerly-awaited report (feasibility study) on the re-development of Páirc Táilteann due to be either finalised or almost finalised, an update may be delivered at Monday night's Co Board meeting in Ratoath, 8pm.
Aras Tailteann was classified as an 'unauthorised development' by Meath Co Council in late 2011 after reports had been received following a safety audit carried out at the Pairc Tailteann stadium.
The safety report was critical of the new meeting rooms, called 'Aras Tailteann', for which no fire safety or planning certificates were supplied.
Meath Co Board convened for its 2011 annual convention in the 'unauthorised' structure, which, at that time, had cost a reported €125,000.
Now it has disappeared - does anyone know where it is?
