Reds the only ones to avoid reds!
There was lots of action in the two SHC games this evening at Athboy and Kildalkey where Trim and Kilmessan recorded second round victories over Navan O'Mahonys and Longwood.
At Athboy, Trim emerged with a 2-15 to 2-8 victory over a Navan O'Mahonys side that trailed by 0-3 to 0-10 at the interval and then collected two red cards in separate second-half incidents in the space of a minute - the 31st and 32nd minutes.
And then, from a position that was almost hopeless, the 13 -man O'Mahonys team made a game of it with goals from Patrick Leahy and Mikey Kelly countring a double salvo from Alan Douglas for Trim.
Trim were never in any danger of not winning, but it was costly outing for O'Mahonys who face Kildalkey next while Trim will play Longwood.
Over the road in Kidlakey, the red cards were also in vogue with one in each half for Kilmessan and Longwood as both sides finished with 13.
It was level at half-time at 1-8 to 2-5, but Kilmessan pulled clear in the latter stages of the second-half to win by 3-16 to 2-14.
Kilmessan will tackle Killyon this weekend while Longwood could find the going tough against Trim.
