Three Bells chimes for Pat Downey again

Meath trainer Pat Downey's Three Bells made it two wins in three days when following up on Wednesday night's success at Naas by landing the concluding Magners Light Handicap at Down Royal this evening for jockey Gary Carroll.

“That’s job done! He's as tough as boots and that's seven wins in different tracks and eight in total. He's not a nice horse to train but he's a lovely horse to race and we’re delighted,' commented Pat Downey in an interview with irishracing.com

Three Bells has won twice at Fairyhouse, once at Navan and Bellewstown and now needs to win at Laytown to complete the Meath circuit. Other wins were recorded at Down Royal, Naas, Leopardstown and Sligo.

Between win and place money, Three Bells has earned almost €60,000 - a good consistent return for a horse that has been mostly rated between 60 and 70 - and good placing by the trainer.

Ger Lyons and Colin Keane also obliged when Dancing Waves won a maiden while another local trainer, Keith Clarke, was also on the mark.

Clarke won the first with 50/1 chance Noble Dancer with Robbie Downey on board. Clarke secured the filly at the sales from Colin and Jessica Magnier who are based at Skryne (Skryne Gallops).

WEXFORD
Down at Wexford the Gavin Cromwell-trained veteran As De Pique was on the mark for jockey Brin Kane.
