Two dead on our roads
Two people have died overnight following serious road accidents.
The 13 year old boy seriously injured when his bike was in a collision with a car on the Drogheda/Slane Road on Sunday day (21st August) has died as a result of his injuries. He died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda last night (Tuesday).
Gardai in Drogheda are seeking assistance from any members of the public who travelled this road between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Sunday and may be able to offer any further information or witnessed this collision. Meanwhile, a man has died after his car collided with a truck near Dunboyne, on Tuesday.
The incident happened on the R147 at Pace, Dunboyne, at about 12.55pm. The 91-year-old man, the sole occupant of his car, was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck was also taken to Connolly Hospital with minor injuries.
The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
