Meath edged out in Semple Stadium thriller
Kerry won a thrilling All-Ireland MHC B title today at Semple Stadium when they edged out Meath by 4-17 to 3-11 in a thriller.
Kerry's Shane Conway scored a superb individual goal in the seventh minute and Eic Leen added a crucial second goal two minutes into added time at the end of the half gave the Munster boys a 2-6 to 1-8 interval lead.
In between those scores Meath enjoyed lots of possession and had a goal on the scoreboard through MIkey Mullin who also added a point while Peter Farrell (three), Jamie Leavy and James McNally (two each) completed the Meath first-half points tally.
Brian Dowling's goal at the end of the third-quarter revived Meath at a stage when they were struggling to get back into the game and at that stage they trailed by two points (2-11 to 2-13).
Kerry went three clear but a goal from Will Flynn tied the scores at 3-11 to 2-14 with six minutes remaining.
Kerry found a response and a goal from Padraig O'Mahony got them back on track and they pulled away for a desreved win.
