Feis Cup for Donaghmore/Ashbourne - JFC fixtures stand
Donaghmore / Ashbourne won the Feis Cup tonight in a gripping decider against Simonstown Gaels that required extra-time to reach a conclusion.
A Donaghmore/Ashbourne victory looked the least likely outcome in the second-half although they were in front by 0-9 to 0-6 at the interval.
About 10 minutes into the second-half Donaghmore / Ashbourne goalie Jack Hannigan was sent-off and that gave Simonstown the advantage.
The Navan men were ahead by four points as the clock ticked into added time but Donaghmore / Ashbourne kept battling and added a point before Andy Tormey netted in the fifth minute of added time to tie the scores at 1-13 apiece.
Donaghmore / Ashbourne kept the momentum going and won out in extra-time by 1-17 to 1-14.

In the absence of a scoreboard patrons were updated on the scoreline by the public address. It is planned to have a scoreboard in operation at the venue shortly.
JFC QUARTER-FINALS
In other sports matters this evening, the JFC quarter-finals that are scheduled for tomorrow night at Skryne (Dunsany v Summerhill) and Cortown (Bective v Clann na nGael) will be played as fixed.
It was mentioned at last night's Co Board meeting that a request for postponements would be discussed tonight – it is understood that it was discussed and the fixtures stand.
