Kilskyre/Moylagh to good for Gaeil Colmcille
Kilskyre / Moylagh produced a much-improved second-half performance in the IHC semi-final today at trim as they got the better of neighbours Gaeil Colmcille by 1-14 to 1-8 after they had trailed by the the minimum (0-4 to 0-5) following low-key first-half.
The introduction of Tommy Shine at half-time was a key change for the combined side and he found the Gaeil Colmcille net with his first contribution to give his side a 1-4 to 0-5 advantage.
It was all one-way traffic fter that as Kilskyre / Moylagh reeled off the points for a 1-10 to 0-5 third-quarter advantage.
Gaeil Colmcille hit 1-3 in the second-half with the goal arriving with the last puck of the game.
The formbook suggests that next weekend's final will be tight as Gaeil Colmcille loost by three points to Ratoath in the qualifying group and both finalists managed a tally of 1-14 in their respective semi-finals.
Ratoath also hit 19 wides in their semi-final and if they can improve their finishing it could give them a vital edge against Kilskyre / Moylagh who look like they will be without Peadar Byrne who sustained an injury today.
