St Vincent's win the Junior B title

St Vincent's brought the Fr Tully Cup for the Junior B FC back to Ardcath this evening after they negotiated Moynalty by 0-16 to 1-8 in an exciting final at Páirc Tailteann as manager Kenny McDonnell savoured success in his first year at the helm.

St Vincent's were ahead by 0-4 to 0-3 at the end of the gfirst-quarter as Richie O'Sullivan converted three frees and made the fourth for Robbie Lynch who fisted over.

Paul Lynch (two) and wing-back James Cassidy managed points for Moynalty as the game developed into an exciting tussle in front of a big crowd.

Paul Lynch had Moynalty on terms from a 16th minute free, but the Ardcath men reeled off points from Robert Tallon, Maurice Carberry, Shane O'Brien and Ryan Hand before Paddy Byrne managed a Moynalty point two minutes from half-time toleave his side 0-5 to 0-8 adrift at the break.

Moynalty resumed the second-half smartly with Padraig O'Connor bringing a good save out of St Vincent's goalkeeper Cathal Tallon before Adrian Maguire split the posts in the 34th minute.

After having to work hard for that point, Moynalty then gave up an easy one 30 seconds later when Tallon sent over at the other end.

Tallon added another point to make it 0-10 to 0-6 with O'Brien also on target as St Vincent's moved five clear by the 41st minute. O'Sullivan made it double scores by the end of the third-quater.

Kieran Collins extended St Vincent's lead to 0-13 to 0-6, but then Moynalty salvaged a goal from Cathal Reilly with 10 minutes remainingand that gave the Moynalty supporters some brief hope.

However, Paddy Arnold's point settled St Vincent's again although Padraig O'Connor managed a Moynalty point. O'Sullivan and Paul Lynch traded points with Paddy Arnold completing the tally for St Vincent's before the final whistle.
