Heartbreak City in good form ahead of Melbourne Cup bid
Ahead of Tuesday's Melbourne Cup, Meath trainer Tony Martin confirmed at the weekend that Heartbreak City is in good form after his trip from Ireland for the big race and the quarantine at Werribee outside Melbourne.
'He handled the travel well and he didn't run up light, he looks well and my lads here have been very happy with him, all we want now is to avoid bad luck on Tuesday,' commented the Meath trainer.
The race is worth some €2,500,000 to the winner with place money going down to the 10th home and Heartbreak City is the lightest weighted of the three Irish runners.
Wicklow Brave and Bondi Beach are the other two Irish runners for Willie Mullins and Aidan O'Brien respectively.
The Melbourne Cup will be shown live on AtTheRaces on Tuesday morning.
Twitter has also partnered the Victoria Racing Club to live stream the race globally.
The stream will be available directly to mobile, desktop or tablet and it will not be necessary to log in or have a Twitter account.
