St Colmcille's win against Arklow
St Colmcille's made their debut in the Leinster Club IFC today with a trip to the Garden County where they recorded a 1-16 to 2-10 victory against Arklow Geraldines although the game was held up as an ambulance was required to take Ben Brennan from the pitch due to injury in the second-half.
St Colmcille's were ahead by 1-9 to 0-7 at half-time due to a late scoring surge after the teams were tied at 0-7 each in the run up to half-time.
Ciaran Kelly got the crucial goal in added time before the break.
St Clomcille's pushed on after the resumption and were 1-12 to 0-8 ahead when the Arklow side was reduced to 14 men.
However, the hosts kept battling and redeuced the deficit to four points (1-10 to 1-14) in added time, but St Colmcille's picked off two more points before Arklow found the net again in the 12th minuteof added time.
Next up for St Colmcille's is another trip on the road next weekend - Round Towers (Kildare) v St Colmcille's and the other sem-final is - Fingallians v Rosemount.
Round Towers beat O'Dempsey's (Laois) by 0-11 to 0-9 today.
