St Ultan's appoint Padraig Coyle as manager
Padraig Coyle has been appointed to take the role as first team manager for 2017 with St Ulatn's following the club's AGM at the Martry clubrooms last night.
The selectors have still to be appointed and it's not clear at this stage whether the Seneschalstown man will continue with his refereeing duties.
“To get a manager of Padraig’s experience is a great result for our club,' commented St Ultan's secretary David Ball.
'Obviously, 2016 was a disappointing year on the field for us, however, we’re very confident that Padraig is the right man to help us turn things around.
'The whole club is backing him and want to wish him well for the year ahead,” he added.
Coyle has previously managed Seneschalstown and Mattock Rangers in Louth and when managing Clan na nGael in 2007 he guided the club to the JFC and a Leinster title. He was also a selector on the Meath minor team with manager Andy McEntee.
St Ultan's finished bottom of the A FL Div 2 this year with Drumbaragh and were relegated, but in the IFC they maintained their status with a group
victory against Longwood - Longwood ened up in the relegation play-offs.
