St Pat's game called off
The Leinster Post-Primary Schools' SFC clash between St Patrick's, CS, Navan and Marist, Athlone has been called off because of fog.
The game was due to be played at St Brigid's, Kiltoom pitch a short distance from Athlone however it appears the ground is shrouded in a blanket of fog.
The bus carrying the St Pat's players was already on the way out west when the call came through that the match was postponed.
St Pat's would no doubt have approached the game with confidence following their commanding 4-13 to 1-4 victory over Colaiste Eanna at Templeogue last week.
That was a game where St Pat's produced some excellent football to easily get the better of their opponents.
Players such as Oisin Martyn, Cian Swaine, Cathal Finnegan, Paul Cunningham and Frankie Cullen were particularly impressive in that game.
Finnegan and Cunningham grabbed two goals apiece and they would have been looking forward to taking on the Marist defence. However the game has fallen victim to the weather.
