Meath GAA awards presented

The annual Meath GAA awards took place at the Castle Arch Hotel, Trim last night where the St Colmcille's club received a special PRO award for their social media efforts.

Simonstown Gaels footballer Shane O’Rourke was recognised for his contribution to a historic and memorable first Keegan Cup success for his club 
with the footballer-of-the-year accolade and followed in the steps of his father Colm who won the same award on three occasions.

The hurler-of-the-year was presented to Meath’s Christy Ring Cup-winning captain and Trim clubman James Toher.

James Conlon (St Colmcille’s) and Gavin McGowan (Ratoath) took the young footballer and hurler awards respectively.

Slane clubman David Gough was honoured with the Shane Hourigan young referee-of-the-year Memorial award at the National Referees’ awards at Croke last week and last night picked up the Meath referee-of-the-year award.

Barry Campbell from the St Patrick’s club received the most improved referee award.

The club-of-the-year award was presented to Donaghmore / Ashbourne and the ground-of-the-year to Dunshaughlin
