Duleek/Bellewstown show good form in Feis Cup

Duleek / Bellewstown got their 2017 campaign off to a winning start tonight when they recorded a thoroughly deserved 1-8 to 0-5 first round Feis Cup victory against Dunshaughlin.

This was an impressive performance by Duleek/Bellewstown playing their first game under recently-appointed manager Anthony Malone who expressed his satisfaction with the way his players performed.

The slippery conditions weren't helped by a couple of heavy showers of rain but Duleek / Bellewstown were ahead by 1-7 to 0-0 at the interval and while they only added a point in the second-half, they defended stoutly and earned a place in the next round.

Conall McGinley scored 1-3 in the opening half with John Flood (two), Anthony Burke and Ciaran Flynn adding the extra points.

Darren Heeney claimed the second-half Duleek / Bellewstown point while Tadhg O Dushlaine (three), Eoin Hagarty and Dan Ormsby got the points for Dunshaughlin.
