Late equaliser earns a point for Cosmos
Navan Cosmos left it late, but they picked up a vital point tonight in the North East Football Premier League when they shared six goals with hosts Muirhevnamor in a dramatic and exciting game in Dundalk.
Conor Walsh scored a last minute penalty to earn the point as Cosmos completed a hectic schedule of three league games in the last eight days that yielded four points with a win a defeat and a draw tonight.
The teams were level at half-time at 2-2 as each side enjoyed periods of dominance and the lead changed hands on a number of occasions. Colm Carney and Anto Burke scored the first-half goals for Cosmos.
The hosts regained the lead soon after the resumption and then Cosmos also had a goal ruled out for offside with about eight minutes remaining but levelled with that late equaliser.
Cosmos are now in second place seven points behind Muirhevnamor with three games in hand.
