Funeral of Colin Tuite on Wednesday
Funeral arrangements have been made for 27-year-old Colin Tuite, Dangan, Summerhill, who died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run in Summerhill last Thursday.
Colin's remains will be reposing at his home tomorrow (Tuesday) from 4pm to 8pm. Removal will take place on Wednesday morning, to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Dangan, arriving on foot for funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Colin is survived by his parents Noel and Anne, brother Thomas, sisters Lorraine and Yvonne, grandmother Mary Glennon, brother-in-law Dominic, sister-in-law Jill, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Gardai are appealing for information following the collision which occurred on the Rathmolyon Road, Summerhill.
The deceased man was found with fatal injuries at the side of the road at 8.50pm.
Gardai are interested in speaking to any witnesses, anyone with information or anyone who travelled the road between 8.30pm and 9pm on Thursday, 16th February to contact Trim Garda Station on 046-9481540, The Garda Confidential t Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
The tragedy has shocked and devastated the local community. Local councillor Joe Fox said the community was 'stunned'. 'They are a lovely family. It is a terrible tragedy. The whole community is stunned,' he said.
