Gardai issue fresh appeal over hit and run
Gardai investigating the fatal hit and run collision which claimed the life of 27-year-old Summerhill man Colin Tuite, have launched a fresh appeal seeking information on a 'vehicle of interest'.
The collision occured about a kilometre outside Summerhill village, on the Rathmolyon Road, know locally as the New Road, on Thursday, 16th February. The victim was found with fatal injuries on the side of the road at approximately 8.50pm, after being struck by a vehicle.
Gardai have identified a vehicle of interest and are seeking information on a dark green Ford Mondeo saloon car, manufactured between 2001 and 2007.
They are requesting that anybody who saw this car in the Summerhill area on the date of the collision, in the days leading up to the incident or who know the whereabouts of this vehicle, to contact Trim Garda Station on (046) 9481540, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
