'Guys and Dolls' opens in Trim
Trim Musical Society's production of 'Guys and Dolls' opened last night (Tuesday) and runs until Saturday. Set in Times Square, New York, 'Guys and Dolls' is an oddball romantic comedy.
Gambler, Nathan Detroit (Damien Hurley) looks for cash to set up the biggest craps game in town alongside Nicely Nicely (Colin Kelly) and Benny Southstreet (Ian Rountree) who help find a spot. Desperate for the 'dough' Nathan turns to fellow gambler Sky Masterson (Kevin Hartnett). Sky ends up chasing straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown (Jessica Hackett) ,as a result. Meanwhile, Nathan's fiance and nightclub performer, Miss Adelaide (Emma Stowe) laments that they've been engaged for 14 years and prays for the day that they will finally get married.
Featuring popular songs like 'Luck Be a Lady', 'Adelaide's Lament', 'Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat' and more, this show promises to be fun for the whole family.
With director Pat McElwain, choreographer Aisling Rountree and musical director Dermot O'Callaghan, 'Guys and Dolls' is not to be missed.
