Is the winner alright or not?
Just when they thought they were back on track in the race for the North East Premier Football League title Navan Cosmos could be facing the prospects of losing three hard-earned points from last Friday night's encounter with Boyne Harps.
Navan Cosmos won that game by 4-3 and picked up a valuable three points to get themselves back into contention in the race for the title.
However, it is understood that Cosmos may have used an ineligible player in the game and if that is correct, then they could forfeit the three points.
It is understood that the player in question was ineligible due to an accumulation of yellow cards, but Cosmos may not have been informed officially about the suspension ahead of the game.
If that is the position then they would be able to present a good defence.
The matter is likely to be discussed at an upcoming disciplinary meeting when all the facts have emerged.
The team Cosmos played on Friday night, Boyne Harps, had points deducted earlier this season by the NEFL following a game against Kingscourt Harps.
In Div 1 this season Enfield had points deducted as had Oldcastle Utd (Div 2) Lourdes Celtic (Div 3) and BMC Utd (Div 4).
