What time is your local St Patrick's Day parade starting at? Look no further
Despite the disappointment of not having a funfair in Navan for St Patrick's Day due to a decision by Meath County Council, the Navan Shamrock Festival is determined to put on a fantastic few days entertainment for young and old.
Chairman, Cllr Paddy Fitzsimons, says there will be music at Kennedy Plaza and plenty for young people to do if they come into town.
The theme of this year's St Patricks Day Parade in Navan will be Cartoon Characters.
The parade is one of the highlights of the Navan Shamrock Festival, which involves a week of celebration of our national saint.
The parade starts at 2pm on the Trim Road. Cllr Fitzsimons announced that the Grand Marshal of the parade this year would be Marie Johnson from SOSAD. Marie was involved in establishing the SOSAD group in Navan and this honour is a mark of recognition of the great work she and the group do. Marie will join the Mayor of Navan, Cllr Francis Deane, as one of the judges of the parade.
Navan has been getting into the holiday feeling for the past week or so with bunting already up and businesses dressing their windows for the occasion.
