Wall's men reach Feis Cup final as two see red
Gaeil Colmcille booked their place in Feis Cup final after they defeated Duleek/Bellewstown 2-22 to 2-9 at a windswept Syddan today.
Seamus Mattimoe was in excellent form for the winners helping himself to 10 points, nine from play as they push aside the challenge of Duleek/Bellewstown.
In a niggly affair two players, one from each side was sent off, with Cian Doogan the first to see red while David Moore also made the long, lonely walk soon after.
The Gaeil Colmcille goals were scored by Oisin Reilly and Martin Barrett with some of their approach work and decision-making of the highest order.
Lar Wall's side led 1-7 to 1-6 at the interval and his troops moved up to another level in the second-half.
Duleek/Bellewstown showed a gritty resistence to their opponent's dominance with both their goals scored by John McDonnell the first coming from a long distance punt with the wind-assisted ball ending up in the back of the net.
His second near the end was neatly taken but his team needed a lot more to rescue the situation.
