Gardai tackle theft of fishing gear at Slane

Gardai are casting their net wide in the hope of recovering fishing gear stolen from a jeep last Saturday and reeling in those responsible.

Last Sat afternoon between 5pm and 5.30pm at Slane bridge along the Boyne a jeep was broken into while the owner was fishing below and assorted fishing equipment stolen.

Two greys reels and fly lines plus three fishing rods were stolen from the back of the jeep. If there was any one walking or driving by the car park on the Ashbourne side of the bridge and spotted any suspicious activity please call Navan Gardai on 046-9036100.
