Derby success for Dunboyne jockey
Beggy took the laurels at the expense of the more-fancied O'Brien runner Cliffs of Moher.
Wings of Eagles was one of six Ballydoyle runners in the race while Joseph O'Brien also had a runner.
Wings Of Eagles was the fifth string Ballydoyle runner and was returned at 40/1 to put the Meath jockey in the limelight.
However, it didn't look so promising three furlongs out as Beggy was languishing at the rear and the outcome looked like going with the form book -

Then, Beggy and Wings Of Eagles swept from almost last to first to claim the race.
'I had a bit of bad luck in running, but probably got there at the right time in the end,' stated Beggy.
'A furlong down I thought if I get a run I'd win, I don't get to sit on many beasts like this at the races, so I'm going to enjoy it.
'I'd nearly given up on the big days,' he added.
