Kerry man marathon bid going through Meath
Keep an eye out for Kerry marathon man Shane Finn around Bettystown on Friday at approx 3pm as he will be finishing day nine of his 24-day marathon-a-day fundraiser in aid of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI) for which his target is to raise €100,000.
His ninth marathon will commence at 9am - 9.30am from DKIT, travelling via Drogheda Town Centre to The Square, Bettystown, arriving at approximately 3pm.
The children at Oasis Creche, Mornington have created handmade signs for Shane which they are hanging on the railings outside their creche and, weather permitting, they will come outside as Shane runs by to cheer him on!
Members of SBHI Louth/Meath Branch will be giving Shane a hero's welcome to Bettystown by hosting a fundraising Afternoon Tea Party at Reddans, 2pm to 5pm.

Shane Finn is running 24 marathons in 24 days.
The aim is to raise €100,000 for people in Ireland who live with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus.
Following on from ‘12 Marathons, 12 Days’, when Shane raised €36,000 for SBHI in 2014, the unstoppable Kerry man is now back with double the distance – a total of 628.8 miles – to conquer!
Shane set off from Donegal last week to make his way through 24 counties as he covers a marathon a day for 24 days, ending in Dingle, Co. Kerry.
Shane, who is 24 and owns the WK Fitness business in his native Kerry, has been inspired to fundraise for SBHI by his cousin Mary, who lives with the conditions.
