Three Meath athletes set for Euro u-23 Championships
Three Meath athletes have been named on the Ireland team to compete at the European u-23 Track & Field Championships which will be held in Bydgoszcz Poland from Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th July.
Trim AC's Harry Purcell has returned from an excellent season with Vilanova College in the Us and will pull on the green singlet to represent Ireland in the 400m and the 400m relays.
He will be joined by Star of the Seas' Andrew Coscoran who will contest the 1500m and the 5000m and St Andrew's Owen Russell who will throw in the hammer event.
All three will also be in action at the All-Ireland u-23 Track & Field Championships which will be held in Tullamore next Saturday.
Trim AC's Shane Aston is also part of the Irish team that departed Dublin this morning for the European Combined Events Cup in Tallinn.
