Six counties united
Meath was one of six counties represented at a special forum with Leinster Council last week where the issue of the proposals for the 2018 Leinster SHC were discussed.
Meath face relegation back to the Christy Ring Cup for 2018 but players and officials are unhappy with the proposed new format.
Meath Co Board was represented at last week's meeting by secretary Francis Flynn, hurling committee chairman Anthony Monaghan, hurling secretary Jimmy Henry, Central Council delegate Paddy Kelly and Leinster Council delegate Francis Lynch.
Delegates from Laois, Westmeath, Carlow, Kerry and Antrim were also present.
Following a discussion, it was agreed that a motion will be submitted by the 14th July (Friday week) deadline to the Special Congress on Wednesday 13th September when the proposals for the new-look hurling championship will be finalised.
The proposal is for a six-team Leinster SHC round robin in 2018 that will include Meath and the counties mentioned above.
