Shipp sails home at Ashbourne
Talented young Headfort golfer Evan Shipp was today crowned Leinster u-16 Close Champion at Ashbourne Golf Club where he produced a fine performance to win the title ahead of a strong field.
Another junior member of the Headfort club, Conor Gaffney, finished in T11 place in a competition that attracted 78 players.
However, Shipp took the laurels with a round of 67, one ahead of Alex Maguire from the Laytown & Bettystown club who finished clear in the runner-up position.
