Meath to face Kildare next Tuesday

Following their comprehensive victory over Carlow in the quarter-finals at Pairc Tailteann on Wednesday evening Meath were handed the toughest draw for the Leinster u-17 Special FC semi-finals where they must face Kildare on Newbridge next Tuesday 18th July, 7pm.

Meath started their campaign with a hugely impressive 1-15 to 1-10 victory over Dublin, and followed it last Wednesday with another comprehensive victory, this time defeating Carlow by 2-19 to 0-4 in Navan.

Carlow had beaten Louth in the back door qualifier by 19 points but they were no match for Meath in a one-sided encounter.

Kildare had defeated Carlow by 2-12 to 1-10 in the opening round and they followed up that win with a huge 6-15 to 1-8 win over Wexford on Wednesday night in Newbridge.

The young Lillies are sure provide a stiff test for Ronan Kearns side, but Meath will be favourites to advance where they could face either Dublin or Laois in the final.
