Summerhill rally to beat Gaeil Colmcille
Trailing by 0-7 to 0-10 heading into the final quarter Summerhill finished superbly to edge out Gaeil Colmcille by 1-12 to 0-11 in their SFC second round meeting at Trim this afternoon.
After an error-ridden opening half ended 0-5 each the fare improved significantly after the break with firstly Summerhill dominating to pull 0-7 to 0-5 clear before Gaeil Colmcille rallied to lead by 0-10 to 0-7 in the 48th minute.
Summerhill clawed their way back to parity before a Brian Hanlon free gifted Gaeil Colmcille the lead again with three minutes remaining. However Summerhill refused to lie down.
Liam Shaw levelled it on the hour mark before David Larkin lofted over seconds later to make it 0-12 to 0-11. Seanie Dalton made sure of the win with a close range goal in the second minute of injury-time as Summerhill made it two from two.
