Local Hospice branch to benefit from new Meath drama group
Hammer and Nail Productions, a newly formed amateur drama group, featuring performers from Ratoath Musical Society, Trim Drama Group and The Venue Players, showcase their debut show, 'Our Town' for two nights, Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July at Ratoath Venue Theatre. They will be donating all profits to the Irish Hospice Foundation's, Meath Branch. Hammer and Nail are delighted to get the chance to raise much needed funds for this great cause.Â
The play, 'Our Town' by Thorton Wilder, was first produced and published in 1938, a Pulitzer Prize–winning drama of everyday life in the small village of Grover's Corners has become an American classic and is Thornton Wilder's most renowned and most frequently performed play.
Hospice care is the total active care of patient and family at that stage of serious illness when the focus has shifted from providing treatment aimed at cure to ensuring the best possible quality of life.
