Smyth hat-trick secures crucial win for Dunboyne

Niall Smyth scored a stunning hat-trick of goals as Dunboyne got the better of Longwood by 3-18 to 2-15 in tonight's SHC clash at Pairc Tailteann.

Smyth's first two goals came in the opening five minutes as Dunboyne raced into a 2-1 to 0-1 lead. However Longwood came battling back and closed the gap to 1-10 to 2-9 at the break with Damien Healy's goal giving them hope.

However, after the break Dunboyne kept Longwood at arms length before pulling clear with Smyth's hat-trick goal putting the issue beyond doubt.
