Get tested for diabetes at Lidl
Have you ever worried that you might have diabetes? Well now is your chance to get checked out with a free test in Navan.
Lidl store on the Trim Road in Navan will offer free screening from Diabetes Ireland to customers in the store this Tuesday 22nd August from 10am to 4pm.
It's part of Lidl Ireland's community screening programme which hopes to raise awareness of the growing numbers being diagnosed with Prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes.
The free screening days are aimed at increasing awareness and early detection for customers at the store.
'Diabetes Ireland is delighted to partner with Lidl Ireland in rolling out this important initiative, which we hope will help people across the country better understand the risk factors associated with Type 2 diabetes', said Dr Anna Clarke of Diabetes Ireland.
'We look forward to welcoming many Lidl customers in Navan for free screening on August 22nd.'
More than 200,000 people in Ireland are thought to be living with diabetes, while more than one million adults are in need of making changes to their daily behaviours in terms of eating healthily and being more active, according to research by Healthy Ireland.
The Lidl programme follows its cardiac screening that it began two years ago. 'Together we hope to raise awareness of the risk factors and encourage more people to reflect on their lifestyle', said Maeve McCleane of Lidl Ireland & Northern Ireland.
