The venue for the All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie Final has been announced

If Meath supporters were unhappy with the way the big game ended at Croke Park last Sunday they'll be fuming at the choice of venue for the replay

Referee Liz Dempsey's final whistle prevented Megan Thynne claiming what would have been a sensational All-Ireland Intermediate Camogie final match-winning point against Cork.

It meant the two sides would have to fight another day with Tullamore or Portlaoise seen as the likely neutral venues but the powers that be have oped for the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick for the 1st October showdown with a 2.30pm throw-in time. That's 250km from Navan!

Cork and Meath played out a tense and exciting draw in the original fixture in Croke Park, with Meath stalwart Jane Dolan scoring an injury-time equaliser to leave the sides on 1-9 apiece.

Will the same number of supporters make the 500km round trip journey to the replay and provide the same backing for the team - if that can be achieved then it's likely that the Jack McGrath Cup will journey back to the Royal County on the first day of next month. It's a big ask.

Extra-time will be played in the event of a draw. Throw-in: 2.30pm (Extra Time if Necessary)

Some 374,000 viewers tuned into RTÉ 2 as Cork claiming the senior O’Duffy Cup for a record 27th time. 
This was an  increase of 46,000 on the peak of 328,000 viewers who tuned in for the 2016 finals.
An average of 276,800 viewers tuned into the live coverage of both the intermediate and senior games and that represented a 30 per cent share of the market.
For Meath now the challenge is to stay focused and win the replay.
