Kildalkey and Kiltale in SHC showdown
Kiltale are just one step away from a fourth successive SHC title with Kildalkey their opponents in the final on Sunday 1st October.
Both teams made it through to the Jubilee Cup showdown after they won their respective semi-final encounters at Pairc Tailteann today.
Johnny Greville's Kildalkey recovered from a slow start to defeat Dunboyne 1-12 to 0-14 in a sometimes tense, but exciting encounter which served as the curtain-raiser at headquarters.
Paddy Connneely came on as a substitute to fire home the only goal of the game to help Kildalkey make it across the line.
In the second game Kiltale had too much firepower for Kilmessan. Cathal Sheridan's side were 1-12 to 0-6 up at the interval and cruising but Kilmessan came back strongly after the break and reduced the deficit to three points but with the help of a late goal from Adam Murphy Kiltale wrapped up victory on a 2-17 to 0-15 scoreline.
Darren Reilly was in outstanding scoring form for Kilmessan with nine points and his scores, added to others from Steven Clynch, Kevin Reilly and Kevin Keena, helped to keep their team in touch but there was no stopping the champions as they continue their quest for a four-in-a-row.
