Wolfe Tones stun Ratoath in SFC thriller
It certainly wasn't the prettiest of football but there was plenty of thrills and spills in Ashbourne on tonight as Wolfe Tones stunned Ratoath 0-15 to 0-14 to claim a place in the SFC semi-finals following a nerve-jangling extra-time victory.
Cian Ward was the hero for Wolfe Tones as he converted a 30-metre free a minute into injury-time at the end of extra-time to seal the win.
The teams were tied on 11 occasions over the 80 minutes before Ward struck what proved to be the winning free.
The teams were level 0-4 each at the break and also 0-11 each at the end of the hour. At the break in extra-time they still couldn't be separated, 0-13 each, but it was Ward who fired the decisive score.
