Kells students help launch CPR Awareness Week

Students at St Ciaran's Secondary School in Kells travelled to Raheny last week to meet Minister Richard Bruton and learn about CPR Awareness training for students as part of the launch of national CPR Awareness week.
Adam's Gift: CPR Awareness Week is being organised by the Order of Malta and runs from 21st to 29th October. There are numerous training events in locations around the country throughout the week.
Last year 110 first year students from St Ciaran's received CPR Awareness training from the Kells unit of the Order of Malta. CPR training helps to recognise and manage cardiac arrest and save lives.
"Last year more than 2,800 people received free CPR training during the week. CPR saves lives and we have had feedback of a number of potential fatalities that were prevented as a result of individuals that received training over the few short years of the project", said Commander John Wright, National Director of Order of Malta Ambulance Corps.
