Kilmessan crowned Leinster queens
Katie Ní Choileain's late point gave Kilmessan a third Leinster Junior title at the expense of Westmeath neighbours Raharneyat Hawkfield yesterday afternoon as the Meath champions won by 2-7 to 1-9.
This was a hugely competitive encounter and Kilmessan were ahead by 1-3 to 0-4 at the interval with the goal from Megan Ní Choileain.
The second-half exchanges were tight throughout and Raharney eventually gor back on terms at 1-5 each when Pamela Greville found the net for the Westmeath side.
Kilmessan upped the tempo and Aileen Donnelly was the driving force as she sent over a point from a free and soon after another free dropped under the crossbar for a second goal.
Raharney boumced back to parity with four Greville points, but in added time Kilmessan sealed victory with that late Ní Choileain point.
