Meath hurlers set for December start
A new era for Meath hurling will begin on Saturday 30th December next when they host Antrim in the first round of the 2018 Walsh Cup.
Meath will also play Dublin in the pre-season warm up tournament on either 3rd January or 7th January.
The date of that game is likely to be determined by the result of the first game against Antrim.
This will be the first game for new Meath manager Nick Fitzgerald and his selectors Paul Reilly and Kilkenny duo Michael Kavanagh and Martin Comerford.
Meath footballers will be in action on Wednesday 3rd January against Carlow or Wicklow who will play their opening round on 30th December.
After the O'Byrne Cup and Walsh Cup conclude the focus will turn to the NFL and NHL opening round of games.
27th JANUARY
NFL Div 2 - Clare v Cavan; Cork v Tipperary.
28th JANUARY
NFL Div 2-- Roscommon v Meath; Louth v Down.
NHL Div 2A- KIldare v Meath; Carlow v Westmeath; London v Kerry.
