Páirc Tailteann development meeting postponed
Monday night's scheduled meeting regarding the re-development of Pairc Tailteann organised by Meath GAA Co Board for Dunganny has been postponed.
The meeting was organised as a follow up event to an earlier one in October that was attended by the chairman, secretary and treasurer of each club.
That meeting, and next Monday's intended meeting that has now been postponed, were not open to the media, but it is understood that the objective was to discuss in detail the plans and the finances for the proposed re-development of Páirc Tailteann for which planning permission is currently being sought.
"In relation to Monday's meeting the clubs requested more time to discuss the project with their members," commented a spokesperson for Meath Co Board.
"As of today, no new date for the meeting has been set, it's possible at this stage that a meeting will be scheduled after the annual convention," added the spokesperson.
The Meath Co Board annual convention will take place at Navan O'Mahonys clubhouse on Monday 11th December where a new chairman will be elected as out-going chairman Conor Tormey is obliged to step down having completed five years in the role.
At this stage it is known that Mairead Dealeny will take over the role of secretary from Francis Flynn (five-year rule) as the Dunshaughlin official will be unopposed and Jim Mullery will contine (unopposed) in the role of treasurer.
There are three nominees for chairman - Peter O'Halloran, Eamonn Barry and Francis Flynn.
