Gardai confirm body recovered in Boyne search is that of John Stokes
Gardai have confiirmed that the body recovered from the River Boyne at Navan last night by Meath River Rescue is that of missing Navan man John Stokes.
Meath River Rescue recovered the body at Blackcastle last night bringing an end to a search that started on 18th November.
The search was further extended to comb the waterways when Derek Gallagher from Silverlawn, Navan went missing 20 days ago.
Members of the Meath River Rescue and other voluntary groups as well as Meath Civil Defence, the Garda Water Unit and the Army have been invloved in the lengthy search in difficult conditions.
Christopher Rennicks of Meath River Rescue who recovered the body of Mr Stokes extended his sympathy to the family and said he was some small comfort to be able to return the body to his family after such a lengthy search.
