Winning Christmas Millionaire ticket bought in Dunshaughlin
There were four prizes of €100,000 in the National Lottery's Christmas Millionaire Raffle and there is still one purchased in Co Meath to be claimed.
This winning ticket number is 133919 and was sold in Tara News on Main Street, Dunshaughlin. The National Lottery has appealed to all its players to check their numbers.
A spokesperson said: “There were more than 5,000 prizes in our Christmas Millionaire Raffle ranging from one million euros down to €500."
Tickets numbers can be checked online at www.lottery.ie. A carpenter from Co. Cavan and a woman in her thirties from Dublin were the latest winners through the doors of National Lottery HQ today to claim prizes of €100,000 each from the Christmas Millionaire Raffle.
First into the Winner’s Room was the Cavan man who only discovered he was a winner yesterday.
The lucky woodworker said: “I was in work and a few of the lads were reading in the newspapers about the professional Irish footballer, Kevin O’Connor, who won the top Christmas Millionaire Raffle prize of €1 million. They read there were two of the big raffle prizes won in Cavan so I took the phone out and checked the results and sure enough my ticket number was there! I couldn’t believe it so I continued on with the rest of the day’s work and checked again with my wife when I got home and contacted the lottery straight away”.
He bought his ticket as a Christmas present for himself in the Costcutter store on Railway Road in Cavan. When asked for his plans to spend his newfound windfall he said he was going to clear some outstanding bills and treat his family to a nice holiday.
This wasn’t the only major Christmas Millionaire Raffle win in Cavan. Earlier this week, Piotr Kotwa, store manager at Tarpey’s SuperValu, on the Cootehill Road, Co Cavan, claimed the second top Christmas Millionaire Raffle prize of €250,000. Poitr, originally from Gdansk in Poland but living in Cavan for almost 12 years, bought the ticket in the shop where he works.
Meanwhile another €100,000 Millionaire Raffle prize winner also picked up her cheque at National Lottery HQ today. The Dublin woman was given the ticket as a Christmas present from her father.
The excited Dubliner gushed: “With all the goings-on over Christmas I completely forgot about the draw and my ticket. I got a call from my sister yesterday to ask me if I had checked my ticket yet as one of the winning numbers was close to hers, and she also got one as a present from Dad. I went online straight away and my number was the first thing I saw. One hundred thousand euros…. I still cannot believe I won”.
She promised to treat her dad for buying her the ticket which he purchased in Saint Andrew Street Post Office in Dublin city centre.
