New Navan cafe owner's generous gesture to local first responders

A new cafe which opened on Navan’s Bridge Street last week is offering first responders a free breakfast or snacks with their coffee as a way to give something back to the community.
Marco Suchovsky is an experienced barista and coffee expert and wanted to “bring a bit of coffee culture to Navan” with the opening of ‘Ness Cafe’- the name being a nod to his fiance Venessa.
Marco was involved in a number of charity fundraisers and explained that when he moved to Navan last year and decided to open the cafe, he wanted to do something for the community.

“These services can be taken for granted. They are always there when you need them and I wanted to make them feel a bit special,” he said.
Marco explained the ‘Back to Community’ project is for public servants such as gardai, the fire brigade, ambulance service, river rescue volunteers, hospital staff, etc. They can buy any hot drink for €2 and chose from a  selection of scones, pastries, cookies or porridge for free.
Marco told how he sources his coffee beans from four different countries and likes to give his customers information to educate them about the different tastes from each. They also offer nine different varieties of speciality teas.
Originally from Slovakia, Marco has lived in Ireland for 13 years. He explained that he worked in Dublin for 11 years opening and running cafes for Supervalu and Dunnes Stores before moving to Navan. His ‘Marco’s Signature’ coffee company also runs barista training and customer service excellence training courses as well as event catering services.
