Bride reunited with wedding shoes after appeal
A bride whose wedding shoes disappeared while she was having her photos taken has got her happy ending after the shoes were handed in earlier to Trim Castle Hotel today.
Bride Lucy Withers, who married partner Robert Murphy last Saturday made an appeal through the Meath Chronicle in the hopes of having them returned but admits she didn't think she would see them again.
Lucy changed out of her wedding shoes into flats while the bridal party was having photos taken at Trim Castle last Saturday and she put her shoes into a Penneys bag along with one of her bridesmaids. They left the bag behind the low wall at the bus stop while doing their photos. When they went back to get them about ten minutes later, the shoes were gone.
Lucy said she is "delighted" to have get shoes back and has thanked Gerry Conlon from Ballivor who found them while walking and handed them in to the hotel. She also thanked Robert's cousin Lorna Gallagher from Navan for her help and the Meath Chronicle for highlighted the appeal.
"The hotel rang me today to say they had been handed in. A man was out walking along the river and saw the Penney's bag. He brought them home and his wife had seen the article on facebook and realised what they were. I'm so happy to get them back. I didn't think I would."
