Two arrested in connection with 34 stolen beer kegs

Gardai in Ashbourne were toasting the their success following the arrest of two men and the recovery of 34 stolen beer kegs on Saturday afternoon

Uniformed members were on routine patrol when the noticed two men offloading beer kegs from one vehicle to another at Killegland. The Gardaí decided to take a closer look and examined the kegs. It was established that all 34 were stolen and that they were being loaded onto a truck which was due to depart for continental Europe later that night.

 

The two men, both with local addresses, were arrested and taken to Ashbourne Garda Station. They are due to appear in Court in connection with the seizure.
