Navan Fire Service assisting ambulance with a call this morning

Ambulance and stranded motorists rescued by fire service

Meath Fire Service has rescued a number of stranded motorists throughout the night and also assisted an ambulance responding to a cardiac arrest.

The ambulance got stranded in Nobber and members of Nobber Fire Service dug out the ambulance and escorted it to Kells. The ambulance was transporting the male to the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

Navan Fire Service also assisted the ambulance service in a call this morning.

 

Meanwhile, Ashbourne Fire Service managed to rescue a motorist who was trapped for three hours in his vehicle after hitting a snow drift on the N2 at Waterside Great in the early hours of this morning. Gardai were unable to reach him and firefighters from Ashbourne managed to rescue him and took him to a hotel for the night.

Four motorists were stranded at Fairyhouse shortly before midnight. The fire service succeeded in digging three vehicles out but one was stranded there.

Kells and Nobber Fire Service also assisted with stranded motorists during the night.

Trim Fire Service has been working to clear paths and maintain access to St Joseph's Hospital in Trim.

Yesterday, Dunshaughlin Fire Service were called to a chimney fire.
