Tully Park to host inter-provincial clash
Tully Park, the home of Trim Celtic FC, will be the venue for an unique soccer game this Saturday when a Leinster/Munster selection take on a Connacht/Ulster combination, kick-off 2pm.
The game is part of the 46th Deaf Inter-Provincial Championships with a number of other events planned for Trim including women's basketball and futsal and men's five-a-side in the local Aura Leisure Centre.
Tully Park has hosted various schools representative games over the years as well as an under-age international in the 1990s that included a certain Damien Duff who was in the foothills of what turned out to be a very successful career.
"We're delighted to hold this soccer game on Saturday, it's a honour for the club," said Trim Celtic clubman Robbie Connell.
In recent years Trim Celtic have spent in the region of €80,000 on carrying out development work on Tully Park now recognised as one of the finest grounds in the North East Football League.
The first team under Paddy O'Reilly is currently top of the Premier Division although they suffered 0-1 defeat to Newfoundwell in the Challenge Cup at the ground last Sunday.
