Fay leaves Moynalvey role
Moynalvey are on the look out for a new senior football manager after Darren Fay left the role following last Sunday's SFC loss to Wolfe Tones in Skryne.
The two time All-Ireland winner and three time Allstar took over at Moynalvey from Paul Harnan and Denis O'Shea in January 2017 and enjoyed a relatively successful first year in charge.
Fay's Moynalvey played some thrilling football in the 2017 SFC where they finished second in Group B with just one loss to table-toppers and eventual champions Simonstown.
The highlight of Moynalvey's impressive SFC campaign was their 3-15 to 1-15 victory over Navan O'Mahonys where Moynalvey's defending epitomised the Fay style, while mixing it with an outstanding blend of attacking football.
Last year's SFC campaign ended with a narrow 0-13 to 1-11 loss to Gaeil Colmcille, but off the back of that impressive run much was expected of Moynalvey this year.
However, last Sunday's 0-10 to 3-16 drubbing by Wolfe Tones, during which Moynalvey only scored once in the opening half and trailed by 0-1 to 2-8 at the break, coupled with the poor A FL Div 1 form which has saw them manage just one win from five outings has hastened the former Trim and Dunderry players departure.
Moynalvey will play Ratoath in a crucial SFC second round game in Skryne next Friday night at 8pm.
